About

The LAPN Project Catalogue and LAPN Resource Efficiency Toolkit are initiatives of participating local authorities in Ireland's Local Authority Prevention Network (LAPN). LAPN is one of many resource efficiency programmes being implemented by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as part of the National Waste Prevention Programme (NWPP). NWPP has been in place in Ireland since 2004 and operates under the BeGreen umbrella.

Following on the successful completion of the Local Authority Prevention Demonstration (LAPD) Programme (2006 - 2009) the EPA has since continued to provide support to local authorities in Ireland under the Local Authority Prevention Network (LAPN). Clean Technology Centre at Cork Institute of Technology also provides expert advice.

Since 2006, participating local authorities, the EPA and the Clean Technology Centre have been developing many useful materials and tools in their work of promoting waste prevention and resource efficiency in Ireland.

These materials have now been collated and catalogued into two useful online resources, a catalogue and toolkit.
